Previously...

Mid-August, 2024. Night. Toxicology and Forensic Medicine Office. New Orleans, Louisiana.

I pushed the damn button on the personnel entrance door. At this hour only the night shift would be around. Almost five minutes later someone deigned to open the fucking door for me.

I smiled sarcastically at the security camera as I walked in. The security guard at the entrance bid me goodnight and I simply showed him my badge and signed the visitor's log.

I walked down the stairs to the morgue. I walked in as if it were my home, in a way it was, and headed to one of the autopsy tables. There stood Joey "Laveau" Archer, my contact with the local Forensic Department and also my Childe.

Josephine "Joey Laveau" Archer, 8th Generation Samedi bloodline, Hecata clan. My Childe...

-"Boss, I didn't expect to see you here so soon..."- Sarcasm was a regular thing for her. Perhaps what I tolerated the most about our professional relationship.

-"Anything new here? You have new tenants, right?"- I answered while looking at the body of that guy on the table, about to be dissected.

-"As usual... the night isn't being too busy..."- she answered with a smile.

I noticed the subtle buzzing in my bag. I opened it and grabbed my twin brother's old revolver. He was warning me about something... It was all too fast! I fell against the autopsy table, on top of the corpse, after his blow on me!

Colt M1917 .45 calibre revolver, Jacques's old fire weapon...

A huge man, sullen and with a lost look was standing in front of Joey. Both she and I saw it clearly as soon as we laid eyes on him: he was a reanimated corpse!

I tried to take out my service pistol but I didn't know if that would work against him.

My Childe was faster, perhaps too much. -"Dust to dust... asshole!" At her touch, the walking corpse began to disintegrate in front of her, reducing itself to a pile of ashes and dust.

Joey using her Oblivion powers to destroy the reanimated corpse...

If my suspicions were correct, we were in trouble, the whole damn city in fact...

So it turns out Danny and Billy share a realms guardian. Not like they knew that until they literally got scruffed and taken through a portal- apparently realms paperwork can take years or even centuries so they actually got really lucky with how much their guardian was pushing.

Apparently the primordial being of Space and the primordial being of Storm is one and the same and has been… well not throwing a fit but also yes throwing a fit at the Observants and other paperwork beings of the Zone.

So it’s not the worst kidnapping either of them have gone through, apparently they’re getting a checkup and a crash course in realms stuff?? Oh god what do you mean there’s the equivalent of galas in the Zone and they have to go to them??? Sam/Tim help them!

On the bright sides, way less attacks on Amity now that a primordial being that literally shuffles around entire galaxies just because is hanging around to teach him how to do things. And when Billy gets found out to be ten he can cheerfully say he has permission from his guardian. The one literally letting them get through space so quickly just because they think the league is neat. In an idle wow yep kiddo that is a funky looking cat we aren’t taking home yep, way.

I like the fact Tremaine's designated color is pink while Germaine's is maroon because if I draw them together it looks so bright and happy but they're in a dying world and both commit crimes many times a week just to survive. But hey, whatever.

If love is how they die, it beats starvation or injury! So letting them be codependent is like a treat almost.

#my characters #germaine and tremaine at least have each other (and kind of adopt motka as familial)#as mentioned prev with germaine who is the material wealth based layer guy #tremaine is the layer of lust and motka (who i keep mentioning) is the layer for gluttons #but while germaine is pretty much the embodiment OF being overly greedy and materialistic is incredibly rational #and while he hates it he knows when to cut a loss (item wise)#tremaine while the layer of lust and who does like the idea of having a fling has minimal desire for an actual romance #and based on the world they live in he knows its not really reasonable to expect a lot of intimacy and is mostly fine with it #but to cope with that lack of intimacy he is very touchy feely with the team including draping over his brothers back #or hugging motka whenever he wants despite germaine and motka being very much not fond of contact #to them its like ok fine tremaine is the exception but no one else can touch me #motka as the layer for gluttons is a bit different in that he is more uh.... the layer rather than the glutton #so he likes to cook and he likes to make others eat and he doesnt really eat much himself #hed rather make that someone elses joy especially since resources are hard to come by #so he acts like the group mom and germaine (as one of the oldest) is group dad and they're most of the reason why the group stays alive #also oddly enough to point out but germaine and tremaine are the only sibling layers while other layers DO have siblings #like the other oldest one has a younger sister and the team doctor guy has two younger siblings (twins)#and then the youngest member (limbo) has an older brother #so yeah i dont really know why the wellington brothers get to both be layers but theyre making it everyones problem #i really liked the cast for this plot but i dont really have much in terms of how i wanted the plot to go ?#so i dont draw them a whooooole lot but been thinking about these codependent brothers lately #and final note but motka used to have a younger sister but she died from illness which is why he is so lenient with tremaine #hes like i wish i still had a younger sibling so now you will be like my family if youd let me #and tremaine blissfully unaware for the longest time that THATS why motka is so lenient with the touching from him #its because hes more pleased by the Still Having a Sibling Aspect rather than pleased with tremaine
